1937
The encounter
During the summer of 1937, on the French Riviera, Albert Fouquet met a young John F. Kennedy. Captivated by Fouquet’s personal fragrance, Kennedy later asked him to send eight samples for his friends—and another for Bob.
A simple request gave Eight & Bob its name.
1937–1939
The fragrance crosses the Atlantic
Soon, letters began arriving from America. Directors, producers and actors had discovered the fragrance through the Kennedy family’s Hollywood connections.
